Apparently, a student in Lakeland, FL was suspended from the bus for 3 days for passing so much gas it was hard for others to breathe. Seems a little extreme to me. When you work with kids, you really need to choose your battles. Although...last year I did have to call the parents of two students, because their excessive farting had become a major disruption in class. And these were high school seniors! I even warned them that if they didn't cool it, I'd have to make phone calls home. I guess they didn't believe I'd actually contact their parents over the issue of farting in class. I told my current students this story (to tell them what would happen if they didn't knock it off with the animal noises), and they thought it was hilarious. Ah...the joys of teaching.

Oh my gosh! That's gross! High school seniors?! Seriously.
Sometimes I wish I taught Kindergarten. :)
That is pretty gross. I taught 3-4 year olds back when I worked in daycare and I caught two of them kissing behind the play house. And not just playful kissing either...
What if the kid had a serious digestive issue??? Sometimes people are just really gassy and they can't help it!
That's only happened once in my five years of middle school teaching, but the kid was mortified and turned beat red.
