Music & Movie Monday

I have decided I'm going to have daily themes!!! Of course I'll still post the usual fare, but on days when I'm short on material, it will be nice to have a back-up plan.

On Mondays I'll be featuring a song, album, or artist I'm loving at the moment, along with a review of a recent movie I've seen or a plug for one I want to see soon.

First up...current song. I am in love with "Falling Slowly" by The Frames. Kris Allen sang it on AI, but nothing beats the original version:



As for movies...I saw State of Play over the weekend. While it was quite good, it fell short of my expectations (which were admittedly rather high). The characters are very real, and the acting is engaging. The plot is solid, but it starts to get confusing near the end. It would have been better had they edited it down to under 2 hrs. I was pleasantly surprised by Ben Affleck. Until recently, I could not stand him. I thought he was a talentless over actor, riding on the coattails of Matt Damon's success. But now, after this and the superb Gone Baby Gone (which he directed), I find myself in the "fan" category.
