A Day is a Day is a Day

I had a good day back at work! I was crazy busy, but things between my company and the district (long story) are smoothed over, the kids were super manageable (they partied too hard over the weekend!), and my staff and I were able to clean the center from top to bottom. Tomorrow will be another busy one, and on top of that, I need to reschedule my physical therapy appointment and call the DeKalb ROE to see if my certificate has been registered - don't let me forget! ;)

I have been equally as productive on the homefront. As soon as I got home today, I did the dishes, dusted downstairs, started a load of laundry, and vacuumed upstairs. I plan to start dinner soon, before sweeping and vacuuming down here. I like to clean at the beginning of every week, so I come home to a calming environment.

I have been challenged by Lindsay (and so have you! check out her blog: girlmoneymission.blogspot.com) to run ~26 mi in a month. I already "ran" a mile the other day, and I plan to pull on my sneakers after I'm done with this entry to add another mile to the tally.

As far as the diet goes, I'm doing okay. I was not able to resist ALL carbs over the weekend. And I had a Diet Coke today. :-/ BUT I significantly reduced my carb/sugar intake, and I have not had a sugar/creamer-laden coffee drink since swearing off such sinful goodness. I don't feel as sore or tired today, nor does my mouth feel like the Sahara (let's just say, I was previously living in a constant state of dehydration).

I better log my food intake, while I'm at it: b: egg beaters on an English muffin w/butter, yogurt, water/ l: trail mix, low carb protein bar, Diet Coke/ s: 1 triscuit (I caved). I think I'm going to make chicken, beans, and broccoli for dinner.

Anyhow, I am off to change into my running gear. The open road awaits!

I did the first two miles! My legs are killing me but it was worth it!
