I do realize I am behind with my themes. So today you get Tuesday, with Saturday-Monday thrown in for free!

Savory Saturday
I don't have any new recipes to share right now, so I'll make a recommendation. Yesterday my SIL and I spent the day in Chicago. After roaming around Old Town, we went to The Cheesecake Factory on Michigan Ave for dessert.
And this beateous creation is what we feasted on:

So the next time you go to Cheesecake, you have got to try Adam's Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple cheesecake! Delish!

Spiritual Sunday
I experienced an epiphany of sorts while watching Yes Man the other night (there is no greater opportunity for self-discovery than a Jim Carrey flick!). I realized the importance of rolling with the punches and seeing everything--even hardships--as an opportunity. Getting fired or dumped can be soul crushing, but it helps to realize such things may simply be stepping stones on a path designed to lead us where we are truly meant to be.

Movie & Music Monday
This weekend I watched Yes Man and Quills (an old favorite). I highly recommend Quills if you've never seen it. It has a good moral and is quite hilarious, despite its darker undertones. Yes Man is a great contingency plan for the night when your first two picks are out of stock. It's not Jim Carrey's best, but two scenes (one involving Red Bull, and the other involving dentures...or a lack thereof) make the movie worth the time and rental fee.

On the music front, I have to give a shout out to David Cook for doing an AMAZING job with "Permanent" on American Idol last week. I don't know how he held it together, given that his brother Adam passed away so recently and that the song is about him. DC's music has brought comfort to many people who have experienced similar losses, and his bravery has given many others the strength to face their own trials with dignity and grace. I sort of hope he doesn't sing this one when I see him in concert...I don't want to cry!!!

Tea Leaves Tuesday
According to cafeastrology.com, here's my horoscope for today:
Your financial issues will depend and reflect exclusively on your personal effort today. This influence will bring opportunities for improving your monetary situation but you will have to take advantage of them by responding to whatever comes your way. In the long run, you could show such concern for material gain that you neglect other important areas of your life.

I will say I've been worried about money since our taxes skyrocketed (gotta love Illinois!), and I didn't know if I'd be employed over the summer for a while there. Luckily, we worked with our mortgage company and got the tax situation under control, and I WILL be working (probably full-time!) this summer. So, I think my horoscope is right...I need to be careful not to neglect other areas of my life. I'm off to do my homework and cuddle with Matt on the couch! :)
