Faint Line Between Positive and Negative

I have some news…I took two pregnancy tests over the weekend and both came back faint positives! I am probably 3-5 weeks along, so a lot can still happen/change. Matt and I agreed to not tell family until the 2nd trimester, but I just had to share the good news somewhere!

So far my only symptoms are tender bewbies, frequent urination, constipation, and fatigue (sounds fun, right?). I am hoping I am one of the 25% of women who doesn’t experience morning sickness, but only time will reveal the full spectrum of pregnancy symptoms to be experienced.

There are a couple things I need to do ASAP as part of the comprehensive pregnancy to-do list I got at www.thebump.com. First, I need to schedule an appointment with an ob-gyn to make sure all is well and the baby is growing fine.

Next, Matt and I need to evaluate our financial situation Our goal is to have all our CC debt paid off by February 24 (estimated due date) and our monthly bills reduced to an amount that can be covered by one income. Of course I plan to return to work after the baby is born, but nothing is guaranteed, especially in this economy, and we just want to make sure we could keep our house and put food on the table if either one of us ever lost our job.

Finally, we want to start looking into child care options. Right now I am leaning towards at-home daycare for the first year, followed by a more traditional setting for years 2-5.

Last night when I got home from the store (I ran out to get a copy of What to Expect When You’re Expecting), I found Matt upstairs at his computer compiling a list of baby names. Right now Hannah, Shannon, August and Noah are our front runners.

To be honest, this feels so surreal. I am trying to avoid thinking about all the things that could go wrong and just enjoy this experience. There is so much to look forward to, so much to live for.

Oh, before I forget...I am going to put together a CD for Matt to celebrate the occasion...please recommend songs (any genre) related to parenthood/fatherhood you can think of!

Yay!!! Can't believe I'm just now reading this. I'm so behind and out of it due to jetlag. Congratulations, sweetie! I'll try to call you soon.

ps - LINDSAY is a fabulous name, by the way.
