Grrrrrrrr

I am so mad right now! I left work two hours early today so I could go to my post D&C follow up appointment at the hospital. I got bloodwork done first (when will it end??) at the outpatient lab and then headed to the doctor's office (not my regular doctor...the one who actually performed the D&C). I waited for a good twenty minutes before the secretary told me I have a balance of $79.00. Apparently, it is what insurance is telling them we owe for the D&C. First of all, I had no clue this was coming. We haven't gotten this bill in the mail yet, and no one from the office called to warn me about this before my appointment. Sorry, but no one should ever show up expecting to be charged a $20.00 co-pay only to receive this news. Second, I tried to explain that hospital services for certain days were submitted through my insurance under the wrong member number and right now we're in the process of having everything re-evaluated. I explained I don't want to pay anything until everything is corrected/finalized. The secretary was like, "You can pay it now and we can always pay you back later." UH, NO. Like I'd ever see that money again! Sooooo many things wrong with this situation! Ultimately, I left without being seen by the doctor. So hopefully all is well in my uterus. I am never going back to Sherman Hospital for anything.

Wait, so they wouldn't see you because you didn't pay the $79? Seriously? I've never had that happen before. I always just tell them to send me the bill and it's not usually a problem. That's weird.

Nope, they would not let me be seen by my dr. Matt even called the offie and said we want to wait until the bill comes in the mail so we can view it at home and make sure everything lines up. The "office manager" said, "Well, our records show it has been mailed out to you." Matt said, "But we have not received it yet...we were totally unaware of this bill until now." And her response: "We don't control the postal service." SOOOOO MAD!!!!

what a *bleep* I hope that everything is okay. Doctor's offices can be so stupid sometimes. That shows that they don't care about the patient and just the money.
