Randomness

I feel like I'm falling behind with my blogging! The weekend was crazy short but crazy good! We went to the Chicago stop of the Poets and Pirates tour. We arrived during Leann Rimes' set. She was really good! She grows on me more and more as she grows and develops as a person and musician. I liked her no-fuss presntation. It was just a simple backdrop, a simple outfit of jean shorts and a white sequined top, and her amazing voice. She did two covers - "I Want You to Want Me" and some Janis Joplin song. Even Matt was impressed, and he has never been a big fan of hers.

Keith Urban was up next. He was the reason we bought tickets. And even though he only sang for about 80 minutes, it was soooo worh it! He is incredible! He is very entertaining. He even walked through the audience at one point - so dangerous! Nicole was there. He had us all sing Happy Birthday to her. That was a highlight of the night, for sure. He sang all his big hits, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear "Raining on Sunday" as well. I will definitely be on the lookout for his next Chicago concert! We left during Kenny Chesney. His songs all start to sound the same to me. I just can't stomach him. He also comes across as very arrogant. I love country music when it's authentic, but he feels like a creation to me. Kind of like NSync or the Backstreet Boys. His music isn't organic...it seems forced, over-the-top. I love Keith Urban because he's a true artist. Kenny Chesney is just a puppet to me.

Hmmm...what else? Yesterday we went to Abby's 3rd birthday. She's a little chubber (her daddy calls her his little "tank" hehe) but soooo adorable! Going to these parties makes me super excited to start our own family. Hopefully, the job situation gets sorted out soon so we can start working on that! :)

I feel rushed...I had so much I wanted to comment on -- everything from The Bachelorette to those "Babies on Board" signs -- but now it's all a big blur in my head. Ah well...I'm gonna get a good night's sleep and come back with a vengeance tomorrow!
