Matt and I went to Arlington Park for Dan's birthday yesterday. I really enjoyed it. The weather was perfect, I got some much-needed sun, Kate came with us, and we got to see Steve for the first time in months. Matt and I were lazy and didn't withdraw cash before getting to the park. I tried to get some from the ATM inside Arlington, but the required withdrawal minimum was $50!! Luckily, Steve lent me a few bucks so I could bid on some races. For one race I predicted Taletobetold would win, just because I liked the name. It did win, but of course I didn't bid on that one, so I lost out big time. For the last race, I told Steve to go with Takeachanceonme. He put $5 on that horse and it came in 1st place, odds 17-1, so he won almost $100!

Today we slept in and then went to 12:00 mass (2nd week in a row-yay for us!!). Afterward, we ran to Best Buy so Matt could buy speakers for a presentation he has to give for work on Tuesday. Then we had coffee and read for a while at Borders before heading to Wal Mart to buy groceries for the week. I'm always amazed at how easy it is to blow $50+ at Wal Mart, Target, or the like. Where does the money go??
