Happiness Is a Fish You Can Catch

According to an article at Yahoo News, these 5 habits bolster an individual's level of happiness:

1. Writing letters of gratitude to people who have helped in some way.
2. Practicing optimistic thinking (the article suggests visualizing and journaling about an ideal).
3. Writing down three good things that have happened every week.
4. Identifying strengths and trying to use them in new ways.
5. Committing acts of kindness (the article suggests volunteering or donating money to a good cause).

This week I am going to compose some thank you letters, journal about three ideals (personal, professional, and social), list three of my strengths and new ways to use them, and sign up for a volunteer project. I plan to write down three good things that have happened every week on a weekly basis from now on.

Right now I'm off to do some housework and think about my ideals and strengths. I'll be back with more later.
