The Plan

Matt and I are trying to decide what to do tonight. He mentioned going to The Lucky Monk for drinks.

I think the place looks really cool, and I'd love to get out, since I have been housebound all week long. But now Matt is saying he doesn't want to drive. I'm still in a neck brace, so I can't drive. Hopefully, his brother or sister will volunteer to be DD tonight!

As for the rest of the weekend, I have a cache of birthday money and gift cards I'd like to put to use. My goal is to find a pair of gray pants and a pair of brown pants for work; I also want a few cute tops/camisoles. If I have anything left over, I want to buy a new shower curtain and toothbrush holder for the master bathroom.

Matt and I are both off from tonight through next Sunday. As far as I know, the plan is to take some day trips next week. I'm sure we'll go to Lake Geneva one day and Galena another day. I believe we'll also be dedicating a day to re-painting the kitchen and installing a tile backsplash behind the sink.

I can't believe this is my last week of medical leave. Six weeks is a lot quicker than it sounds! The good news is I have another week off coming up at the end of March. I'm sure I'll be exhausted by that point and will need a break!

I'm trying not to worry too much about going back to work. If I've learned anything from my medical woes, it's that all you can do is your best; no amount of stress or effort can stop what's meant to happen from happening. This whole ordeal has improved my ability to go with the flow. I've learned that life will take you to places you never expected you'd be, and in the meantime, you should just focus on what is within your control and let the rest go...enjoy the ride!
